And He found you lost and guided [you]. {7} Surah Ad-Duha
In this Ayah, Allah says that he guided our prophet, Muhammad, through his life, as to enlighten us with Islam. And from here, Allah has left us the Holy Quran to guide us through our lives. Every one of us gets lost all the time, and feels like looking for answers, because of that, we are lucky to have the Holy Quran to help us find signs, pieces of advice from the history and rules to make our lives better and help us get through.
Quran heals your soul with peace and mercy
"And we send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.{78}" Surah Al-Isra
I have always thought that part of Allah's forgiveness is when you learn how to forgive yourself. Allah is merciful. His mercy encompasses everything. You will know and feel that when you move between his verses, and this will help you to know what it takes to gain his satisfaction, then you will feel content and you will be able to move on with your life.
Quran gets you out of the darkness
"Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord - to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy. {1}" Surah Ibrahim
The more you learn in the Holy Quran, the more you learn about the sagacity of Allah, the more meaningful you make of your life. The Holy Quran is full of stories of our pacemaker, Prophet Muhammad, other prophets and messengers of Allah, and the people around them who lived back then. Most of the narratives include hard situations and decisions they had to make, their prayers to Allah, and how he answered them. It paves your way to heaven
"Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur'an of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.{78} And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.{79}" Surah Al Isra
As mentioned in these two Ayahs, reading the Holy Quran and praying with it (especially as additional worship), shall let Allah honor you and raise your position in heaven.
Reading Quran guards you on the Day of Resurrection
Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite the Qur'an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection." (Sahih Muslim)
The previous Hadith says if you read the Holy Quran, it will help you in the hereafter as it will defend you regardless of the mistakes you might have done (of course if you quitted asked Allah for his forgiveness).
